The NEPC music department is a "family" in which you will be fed musically and spiritually. You will be nurtured and loved by caring Christian friends as we "...come before Him with joyful songs."
Our purpose in Music Ministry is to provide music for worship that offers praise and worship to our Lord Jesus Christ and edifies the body of Christ. |
Chancel Choir - The Chancel Choir leads the congregation in worship each Sunday for the 11:00 traditional worships service in the Sanctuary. The choir year is from mid August through June and rehearsals are held each Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 in the Choir Room. During the summer, music is presented by soloists and small ensembles while the choir takes a six week break. The Chancel Choir presents musicals performed with full orchestra during the Christmas and Easter seasons each year. Special music is also presented for Independence Day Sunday and for commemorative occasions.
Auditions are not required; however, it is necessary to have a good ear for music in order to participate. We welcome adults and high school students to sing in the Chancel Choir. We encourage you to visit a rehearsal if you are interested without any obligation to join the choir.

Celebration Orchestra - The Celebration Orchestra rehearses monthly on Sunday afternoon (in the Choir Room) one week prior to performance Sunday. Woodwind and Brass Ensembles are also featured occasionally for worship services. Any player with good high school or college experience is qualified to join. Advanced Middle School students may also qualify. Each musician must furnish his or her own instrument, but all music is provided.
The Joyful Bells - The handbell choir rehearses at 6:15 on Wednesday evenings in A-104. Youth and adults are eligible to participate; however, it is necessary to read music in order to qualify. The bells lead in worship on a regular basis and also perform at community events. Maria Currey, Director.
Praise Connection Children's Choirs - Praise Connection is our ministry program offered for elementary school children on Wednesday evenings during the school year, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. It is an hour filled with music, devotionals, Bible challenges and games. There are three age groups: Praise Kids (four-year-old - Kindergarten), Praise Friends (1st - 2nd grades) and Praise Makers (3rd - 5th grades). Each group sings periodically during the 11:00 a.m. worship service, and they give special musical performances in December and April.
